I want to open this email by thanking everyone who has signed up for Clojurists Together. We’ve had a large number of individual developers get on board, as well as several companies. I wanted to especially highlight new company sponsors Centriq (Transduce Member) and JUXT (Filter Member). • Gary Bernhardt gave a great talk at Strange Loop 2015 - Ideology. It talks about the beliefs underlying our claims, the unknown knowns. It’s my number one pick for this week.

Libraries & Books.

• Visualise the results of a Datomic transaction with datoms-say-what
• Cambium is a new structured logging library
• Raamwerk is a web framework built into the system library
• Flare is a Clojure dynamic neural net library that looks pretty fast

People are worried about Types. ?

• Reasons for spec not validating :ret and :fn. I find using Orchestra to validate :ret and :fn helps catch bugs early, especially when I’m iteratively developing

Tools.

• Dynadoc: not your father’s documentation generator
• Cursive 1.6.2 has some great new features for navigating to specs and re-frame handlers
• How to setup HSQLDB with Datomic
• I’m a bit late to the party on this one, but Smartparens was 5 years old in November

Recent Developments.

• Clojure 1.9.0-RC2 is out
• CLJ-1458: Enhance the performance of map merges. This ticket needs someone to help with setting up a benchmark harness to validate the potential performance gains.

Learning.

• Database Structure in Re-frame, I agree with most of these, but would like to write up where I differ sometime.

Misc.

• Dan Luu has an article on the quality of management decisions and sports
